OceanX Education is excited to announce that applications for transit programs on board the R/V OceanXplorer in 2025 are open! These two programs will be run in multiple cohorts throughout 2025 and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
About the programs:
Young Explorers gives students ages 18-24 the opportunity to embark on an immersive multi-day experience with workshops, hands-on activities and independent study to acquire foundational knowledge and skills in ocean science, marine operations, and digital media storytelling alongside world-class experts. NEW! Early Career Explorers selects early career professionals over 25 years old who identify as having five or fewer years professional experience to join peers and world-class faculty in an engaging multi-day experience to develop mentors and support networks, deepen their knowledge about ocean exploration, and strengthen their career’s impact for ocean advocacy through intensive projects and immersive workshops. - Only applicants with passports valid through March 2026 will be considered.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will only receive notification if they advance.
- There will be multiple cohorts for each program in 2025. Dates and locations will be announced if applicants are selected to participate. Please do not publicly promote our current transit dates in your outreach.
- OceanX Education will provide support in the Visa-application (if required) and travel process; all travel (including airfare, accommodations and travel incidental allowance) will be provided.
