The One Ocean Science Congress (OOSC), a special event under the Third United Nations Conference on the Oceans (UNOC3), will take place from June 9 to 13, 2025, in Nice, France. This Congress aims to provide Heads of State and the public with critical scientific insights into the ocean’s health and future, guiding conservation and sustainable use efforts. Contributions are invited on 10 action-oriented themes that align with the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. Researchers are encouraged to submit their abstracts by the deadline of November 14, 2024, at 13:00 CET. Learn more on the abstract submission process here.
In addition to traditional presentations, the Congress will host town hall meetings designed to foster open discussions and share new initiatives across disciplines. These one-hour, on-site meetings will take place during lunchtime and will focus on topics that do not replicate scientific sessions. Proposals for town hall meetings should be submitted by December 13, 2024, at 13:00 CET, and will be subject to approval by the International Scientific Committee. Accepted topics will be included in the OOSC program, creating an opportunity for dynamic engagement between the scientific community and broader society.
