World Resources Institute is pleased to announce an upcoming webinar, “Waves of Change: Assessing Ocean Commitments in Africa,” taking place online on August 11, 2026, from 9:00–10:00 am EDT (4:00–5:00 pm East Africa Time).
This session will focus on the findings of the report, “A Regional Assessment of Our Ocean Conference Commitment Implementation in Africa,” which provides a comprehensive review of twelve years of voluntary commitments made through the Our Ocean Conference in Africa, their progress, enabling factors, and the barriers faced in delivering ocean solutions on the ground.
Join the report authors—including Arthur Tuda (WIOMSA), David Obura (CORDIO East Africa), and Jacqueline Uku (KMFRI)—along with other co-authors and subject matter experts, for an in-depth discussion of the report’s findings and an exploration of how African leadership is driving global ocean action. This event offers stakeholders, policymakers, and all interested participants the opportunity to engage directly with leading voices in African ocean sustainability.
