The Alu School of Wildlife Conservation is pleased to announce that applications for Cohort 2 of the Leading the Way: Effective Management for Marine Conservation and Biodiversity in Africa, are now open!
After spending time online and in-person with course participants of Cohort 1, we more convinced than ever that this course, the content, the experts and the networks that are created are just what young passionate marine conservationists need to thrive in the field and in their careers and lead transformation in the sector. We’re therefore excited to announce the launch of the second cohort and we’re seeking a maximum of 25-30 participants from across Africa who want to level up their careers to join us in this cohort.
Why this programme is needed:
- Catalyst for Change: With the increasing pressures on marine ecosystems, there has never been a more critical time to equip conservation professionals with the skills to effectively lead change in the sector.
- Marine conservation needs ethical, entrepreneurial leaders to develop innovative, sustainable solutions while ensuring fair and equitable practices that balance ecosystem services with economic and community interests. Our courses provide essential management training specifically designed to meet the unique challenges of the marine environment in Africa, ensuring that participants gain relevant and practical knowledge.
- Makes expert knowledge and support available to those who otherwise may never access it: Participants will learn from leading experts in the field, benefiting from their extensive experience and insights into marine conservation and biodiversity management.
- Community of Practice: The programme offers unparalleled networking opportunities, connecting participants with like-minded professionals and fostering collaborations that will lead to long-term impactful conservation initiatives across Africa
