This webinar will present the R+NSE tool and explore its recent adaptation for marine conservation initiatives through a gender and DEI lens. We will examine why broader participation and representation are not enough to guarantee inclusive analyses, and what methodological refinements are needed to surface hidden impacts.
The R+NSE tool provides a five-step framework to identify, analyse, mitigate, integrate, and monitor risks and unintended consequences in conservation projects. The tool helps address the possibility that well-designed initiatives may carry unintended risks and negative side effects that undermine social trust, equity, and long-term success.
The High tides, hidden risks and who gets left out session will include a facilitated lesson, some exercises and feature field experiences by users.
