Opportunity to Collaborate with the International Platform for Ocean Sustainability

The International Platform for Ocean Sustainability (IPOS) is launching a call for nominations to appoint new members to the AKC. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise and experience at the science–policy interface, as well as a strong commitment to equity, transparency, and action-oriented knowledge production.

Who Should Apply
IPOS welcomes nominations from individuals in the following areas:

  • Natural Sciences: Marine ecology, biodiversity, climate science, and related fields.
  • Human & Social Sciences: Sociology, economics, law, anthropology, and related disciplines.
  • Other Expertise: Local, traditional, professional, and technical knowledge, including Indigenous and traditional knowledge, civil society practitioners, private sector representatives, and policy experts.

Based on the current composition of the AKC, applications are particularly encouraged from the Private sector, Art & Culture, Indigenous & Traditional Knowledge, and Biodiversity sectors.

Selection Criteria
Selection will ensure diversity in disciplinary background, geographic representation, gender balance, and institutional affiliation.
