The Blue Schools Capacity-Building Training, a collaborative initiative by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO and the Ocean Teacher Global Academy (OTGA), funded by Sweden, is now open for enrollment, offering a free, online, self-paced course tailored for educators and coordinators in Africa and the Caribbean.
Running from December 18, 2025, to February 15, 2026, this 10–12-hour programme aims to empower teachers to incorporate Ocean Literacy into their classrooms and guide future coordinators in establishing Blue School networks, fostering ocean awareness and sustainability.
Delivered in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, the training supports regional resilience and climate adaptation through practical projects like Junior Coastal Monitoring, aligning with the UN Ocean Decade.
