The TAAF (French Southern and Antarctic Territories) has announced a new call for expressions of interest for the MARIO project, focusing on the preservation of marine ecosystems and the sustainable management of natural resources in the south-western Indian Ocean.
The MARIO project aims to structure and strengthen scientific contributions in preparation for a future oceanographic survey campaign. This campaign will explore the seamounts and outer slopes of the Mozambique Channel Islands—a region rich in biodiversity and ecological significance.
Objectives of the Call
- Bring forward scientific proposals contributing to the campaign’s objectives;
- Identify one or more scientific teams capable of taking on scientific leadership, including responsibility for submitting the project to the French Oceanographic Fleet.
Interested applicants are invited to download the consultation package and submit their application through the official platform.
