This masterclass is designed to enhance the competitiveness of applicants from the region and foster deeper engagement with IIASA. The Masterclass will provide a high-level introduction to the YSSP, including insights into IIASA’s evolving research priorities and practical guidance on preparing a competitive application. Participants will also interact directly with IIASA program experts and learn from past YSSP alumni.
Specifically, the session will include:
- A strategic overview of the YSSP and its relevance for emerging African researchers
- Guidance on developing competitive, well-aligned research proposals
- Breakout discussions with IIASA researchers
- Insights from YSSP alumni on strengthening applications
- Information on the application portal, timelines, and next steps
