The Blue Nature Alliance and Colorado State University’s Center for Protected Area Management are proud to announce that we are accepting applications from now until September 13th for the Social Aspects of Marine Protected Areas Online Seminar!
This 14-week program explores the critical social, ecological, and cultural dynamics of marine environments. Through live online sessions and asynchronous content, this program equips participants with tools, shares good practices, highlights case studies, and creates a networking space to engage in professional exchanges with practitioners from around the world.
Key topics include:
- Social, ecological, and cultural dynamics of marine environments
- Effective institutional management and governance
- Balancing conservation with social justice
- Human interactions with marine environments
- Social impacts, wellbeing, and livelihoods
Program details:
- Dates: Part 1 – November 6th to December 18th, 2024; Part 2 – January 15th to March 12th, 2025
- Duration: 14 weeks (~4 hours per week)

- Cost: $1,500 USD
