Western Indian Ocean Certification of Marine Protected Area Professionals (WIO-COMPAS) programme is pleased to announce that applications for Level 1 and Level 2 certification, for the year 2023 are now open. The certification assessment events will be offered in March and October 2023.
Level 2 certification is open to marine protected area professionals (MPA) from the WIO region who are responsible for management, supervisory and administrative tasks within MPAs (MPA manager, assistant manager, site manager, warden or section ranger) while Level 1 certification targets MPA rangers or marine field operators who are tasked with the practical day to day management of MPAs and hold basic administrative responsibilities.
