Call for Nominations: First Round of Regional Workshops of the UN Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea

The Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, Office of Legal Affairs, would like to draw attention to the convening, under the auspices of the United Nations, of regional Workshops (the “Workshops”) in support of the third cycle of the Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment, including Socioeconomic Aspects (the “Regular Process”) and on Ocean Governance and the science-policy interface. The Workshops will be hosted by the Government of Tanzania and will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 19 to 27 July 2022. The Workshops will cover the Indian Ocean (including the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal), the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and the ROPME/RECOFI area.

Intergovernmental organizations are kindly invited to submit nominations for their technical experts to the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (temnova@un.org, with a copy to akhmad.sani@un.org, doalos@un.org, maria.rodriguezchaves@un.org and khan42@un.org), as soon as possible and no later than Friday, 10 June 2022. Nominations should have due regard to the need for gender balance.
