This year, a group of young marine enthusiasts, the Youth4MPAs (Youth for Marine Protected Areas), in partnership with WILDOCEANS are hosting the first-ever virtual African Youth Summit on the 19th and 20th of August 2021.
The summit aims to mobilise African Youth, encouraging them to take ownership of the global 30×30 target, and to adapt this initiative with an African perspective for our continent. Further, it will be a space to help capacitate youth, encourage learning & knowledge sharing under the theme of ocean protection.
We call on all youth (13-35 years) who are passionate about ocean protection as well as learning about ocean protection to join us in August as we strive to take ownership of marine protection on our continent while also developing solutions that will help us in building an environmentally active and conscious youth movement across Africa.
