Virtual Workshop: Designing Multiple-Driver Experiments

WIOMSA and SCOR’s Changing Ocean Biological Systems infrastructure group are excited to host a virtual workshop for researchers from the Western Indian Ocean region, interested in learning how to design and conduct tractable multiple-driver experiments. This workshop will guide participants in using the MEDDLE resources to:

  • Define a relevant research question
  • Identify key drivers, biological traits, and responses
  • Select an appropriate experimental design
  • Develop a statistical analysis plan

Workshop Details:

  • Dates: 4 and 5 February 2025
  • Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (East Africa Time)
  • Participant Limit: 8 researchers

Eligibility: Participants should have experience designing and conducting single-driver experiments (e.g., marine warming, ocean acidification). Attendees must be available to attend both sessions.

How to Apply: Interested researchers should email Christina McGraw (christina.mcgraw@otago.ac.nz) by 23 December 2024. The application should include a brief statement (<150 words) outlining:

  • Your experience with single-driver experiments
  • How you plan to incorporate multiple driver experiments into your research.

Succesful applicants will be notified by 8th January 2025

Conveners: Christina McGraw, Damboia Cossa, Christopher Cornwall, Peter Dillingham
