The Western Indian Ocean Certification of Marine Protected Area Professionals Programme (WIO-COMPAS) is pleased to announce that applications for Level 1 and Level 2 certification assessment are now open. The combined event will be held on 24-27 October 2023, in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Level 2 certification is open to marine protected area professionals (MPA) from the WIO region who are responsible for management, supervisory and administrative tasks within MPAs (MPA manager, assistant manager, site manager, warden or section ranger) while Level 1 certification targets MPA rangers or marine field operators who are tasked with the practical day to day management of MPAs and hold basic administrative responsibilities.
The deadline for applications is 17th August 2023.
