On the occasion of World Oceans Day 2023, the International Seabed Authority (ISA), the Office of the High Representative of the United Nations for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) and partners of the Women in Deep-Sea Research project joined hands to launch the S.H.E. (“See Her Exceed”) Mentoring Programme in deep- sea research.
Applications are now open for all interested women scientists from developing States, particularly those from least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing States, specializing in deep-sea research in three areas:
- marine geosciences
- marine deep-sea biology and ecology
- biological oceanography.
The S.H.E. Mentoring Programme has been designed to address the underrepresentation of women in marine science while promoting and advancing the leadership of women scientists from developing States in deep-sea research.
Applications are open until 31 August 2023.
