Blue Carbon Module is Now Live!

The Blue Carbon Module compiles the latest scientific guidance and tools to help managers, researchers, practitioners, and governments understand how blue carbon can be measured and utilized to promote conservation and restoration of coastal ecosystems. Specifically, we explore:
• What is blue carbon?
• Guidance for developing and implementing a blue carbon project
• Methods for assessing carbon stocks and emissions from blue carbon ecosystems
• How to integrate the protection & restoration of blue carbon ecosystems into national and sub-national policies and financial mechanisms
• Best practices for addressing gender equity in blue carbon projects.

The module was developed by the Nature Conservancy’s Reef Resilience Network in partnership with Conservation International, International Union for Conservation of Nature, Restore America’s Estuaries, Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission – United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, Blue Ventures, and Silvestrum Climate Associates.
